No account, no email. Your location is rounded before it is stored, and is used only to decide whether an incident is near you.
What we do with your location
- It is rounded to a 250-metre grid before it is saved — we never store your address.
- It is used for one thing: deciding whether a published incident is near you.
- No endpoint on this site can read your saved location back — not even to you.
- Turning alerts off deletes the record entirely.
What you will and will not be sent
Alerts are factual and plain: what happened, roughly where, and when. You will not be sent alarming language, and you will not be pinged for every small thing — you choose a minimum severity. If something we published turns out to be wrong, the correction goes to exactly the people who got the original.
